Aluminum Pump Housing
Casting Solutions
Pressure-tight, leak-free pump housings and pump bodies in A356 aluminum. Gravity cast for superior density. Integrated CNC machining. IATF 16949 certified.
Why Aluminum Gravity Casting for Pump Housings?
Pump housings demand more than just dimensional accuracy — they must be pressure-tight, structurally robust, and leak-free under cyclic loading. Aluminum gravity casting delivers all three requirements while maintaining cost-effectiveness for low-to-medium production volumes.
Unlike high-pressure die casting, which can trap gas and create micro-porosity in thick sections, gravity casting produces a denser, more uniform microstructure. This is critical for pump housings where even microscopic porosity can lead to catastrophic leaks under pressure.
Bohua's A356 gravity casting process, combined with T6 heat treatment and integrated CNC machining, delivers pump housings that meet or exceed the performance of machined-from-billet components — at a fraction of the cost and lead time.
Competitive Advantages
6 Reasons OEMs Choose
Bohua for Pump Housings
Pressure-Tight & Leak-Free
Gravity casting produces dense, low-porosity aluminum structures ideal for pressure-critical pump housings. Every casting undergoes helium leak testing and X-ray inspection to ensure zero defects in pressure chambers. We routinely achieve pressure ratings up to 25 bar for hydraulic and pneumatic pump applications.
Integrated Casting + CNC Machining
Full turnkey service: we cast the pump housing and machine all critical surfaces in-house. CNC machining of bearing seats, seal grooves, inlet/outlet ports, and mounting holes to tolerance ±0.05 mm. No need to coordinate with multiple suppliers — Bohua delivers finished, ready-to-assemble pump housings.
A356 T6 for Strength & Durability
A356 aluminum alloy with T6 heat treatment delivers tensile strength up to 310 MPa and excellent fatigue resistance. Ideal for pump housings subject to cyclic pressure loads, thermal cycling, and mechanical vibration. Corrosion-resistant for water, oil, and hydraulic fluid environments.
Complex Internal Geometries
Our gravity casting process accommodates complex internal flow channels, integral ribs, and thin-wall sections that would be impossible or cost-prohibitive with machining alone. Sand cores enable intricate internal passages optimized for fluid dynamics and minimal pressure drop.
ISO-Certified Quality System
IATF 16949 certified manufacturing with full traceability. Every pump housing is serialized and accompanied by material certificates, dimensional inspection reports, leak test records, and X-ray NDT results. PPAP documentation available for automotive and industrial OEMs.
Fast Prototyping to Production
Gravity casting tooling costs 50–70% less than die casting dies and can be produced in 35–45 days. Ideal for low-to-medium volume pump production (500–10,000 units/year). We support rapid iteration from prototype to pilot run to full production.

Engineering Review
Submit your pump housing drawings or 3D CAD files. Our DFM team reviews wall thickness, draft angles, coring feasibility, and pressure-critical areas. We provide feedback within 24 hours and suggest design optimizations if needed.
Tooling & Prototyping
Gravity casting molds designed with gating systems optimized for pump housing geometry. Thermal simulation ensures proper feeding and minimal shrinkage in pressure chambers. First article prototypes produced within 45 days.
Casting & Heat Treatment
A356 alloy melted and degassed to minimize porosity. Automated gravity pouring fills the mold cavity. After solidification, castings undergo T6 heat treatment (solution annealing at 540°C + artificial aging) to achieve target mechanical properties.
Leak Testing & NDT
100% helium leak testing at specified pressure levels. X-ray inspection of critical wall sections to detect any internal porosity. Only castings that pass both tests proceed to machining.
CNC Machining
In-house CNC machining of all functional surfaces: bearing bores, seal grooves, inlet/outlet threads, mounting holes, and flange faces. CMM inspection verifies dimensional accuracy to ±0.05 mm.
Final Inspection & Packaging
Visual inspection, surface finish measurement, final pressure test (if required), and protective coating (anodizing, powder coating, or e-coating as specified). Parts packaged with foam protection and shipped with full quality documentation.
